Connecting multiple ceiling/wall speakers to SONOS

We have 8 zones of wired ceiling/wall speakers (16 individual speakers) that are currently connected to a Niles SI -1230 amp. There are individual volume controls for each of the 8 zones (wall knobs in each room). We use this system for playing music. We do not use this for television - we have SONOS equipment for all TVs. We'd like to be able to power and control the existing wired ceiling/wall speakers with SONOS. What SONOS equipment would be required to do this?

Probably the Sonos Connect, or multiple Connects if you want to play different music in each zone.

You could replace the Niles and use multiple Connect Amps or Sonos Amps too, but at a much greater expense.
The same music in all rooms is all we need assuming we can continue to control the volume with the existing wall knobs.
Then all you'd need is a single Connect as an audio source for your Niles.

The Connect will be perfect for you, just hook it to your Niles, via optical if possible or the RCA and you'll have music.

The Connect offers fixed and variable audio outputs and you have to pick one to use. Fixed means the room controls are the only adjustment, variable lets you set the room levels but then vary all of them together.

I use a couple older Connects here and love them.
Great...thanks so much for your guidance. It's very much appreciated.
