Hi,

I'm planning a 5.1 system in a new build. For the front sound, I could use an Arc or two inwall speakers (+amp) on the left and right of the tv

Any thoughts about which option is best?

Thanks

Richard

The Arc alone is a 5.0.2 sound bar that is compatible with Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, multichannel PCM, and stereo PCM. The Arc also has a dedicated center channel for dialog. With a Sub and two rear surround speakers, you will have a 5.1.2 setup. NOTE: A TV equipped with HDMI eARC is required for Dolby TrueHD and multichannel PCM audio.

The Amp powering two speakers is just a 2.0 setup that is only compatible with Dolby Digital and stereo PCM audio. This setup uses a phantom center channel instead of a dedicated center channel speaker. With a Sub and two rear surround speakers, you will have a 4.1 setup.

If you want the best home theater setup Sonos has to offer, go with the Arc.
