Hi. 
 

I’m looking to add a turntable to my existing setup, as birthday gift for my wife who is nostalgic for vinyl! From  the research I’ve done the world of vinyl seems more complicated (and expensive!) than I imagined. I’m still undecided if the best route is to add to my Sonos system or purchase a standalone turntable and speakers. 
 

I currently have a beam, sub and two play ones in the lounge linked to my TV with the two play ones acting as surrounds and a seperate Sonos one in the kitchen. 
 

Am I correct that if I buy a turntable and era 100 with line in this will allow me to send music to all

my other speakers? Would the era 100 be sufficient? (I believe the 5 is a better option but adds more expense so was hoping the existing sub etc would assist)

Yes, if you get a turntable with a built-in phono preamp and an Era 100, you will be able to stream the turntable audio to any Sonos speaker in your home. The Era 100 alone will sound good, but a larger speaker like the Five or a stereo pair of Era 100s will sound much better. Don’t forget to get the Sonos Line-In Adapter too.

What size room will you be placing the turntable and Era 100 in? The Five has no problem filling large rooms, nor does the Era 300 which I’ve just ordered to go with my turntable after the death of a Connect. I preferred the more spacious sound of the Era 300 but that’s really just personal preference and both are a decent step up from a single Era 100 especially in larger rooms and I get to experience Spatial Audio when streaming to it.

I would wait with these kind of exotic setups until they have finished the app problems.

Thanks. It will be going in our lounge. It’s not huge maybe 15ft x 15ft. I get that a 5 or Era 300 would be a step up from a single Era 100 but it would be in the same room as my existing beam, x2 play ones and Sub so was wondering if the Era 100 would allow me to stream to my existing speakers that would suffice without adding the extra expense of a 5 or pair of 300s 

Any Line-In can play in any Room. You would need the USB Line-In adapter for any of the ERA’s or the MOVE 2. Note that Line-In is disabled on surround speakers.
