Feature Request: App toggle to reconfigure Era between paired stereo and unpaired surrounds

know that unpairing from the 5 GHz channel and re-setting up as a stereo will take time but a toggle switch between the two while caching the true play tuning and left-vs-right assignment would be incredibly valuable. The manual unpair, re trueplay and pair back as stereo is insanely frustrating and I sort of want to give up on my arc + eras and go back to a playbar + oldddd amp + symfonisk bookshelves. In a world where there’s a nuance feature for everyone on apps from companies of Sonos’ caliber, the lack of feature support on Sonos in 2026 is downright disappointing. 
 

Yes, this was covered in other posts which were 2 years old and now closed for commentary so I want to start a dedicated feature request. It’s been two years. The app is stable. Let’s start adding some value or I’m going to just give up and go elsewhere.

You can't use the forum search to find recent posts, it just can't do that.

There have been many current and past discussions of this here.

If you use an external search engine and sort by date you can find them. Hint use the site option in your search to restrict the search to these forums.

Hard to be helpful when about all that can be done is explain why Sonos is unlikely to do it.

Such a good idea but so many roadblocks to actually doing it.

    True true. As a noob it was challenging getting advice asking if it was possible while also learning why it wasnt without too many opinions or condescension that polluted the answers. To add to the OP’s request, in my case I was also lamenting not being able to use the line-in on the Era100 while in Home Theater mode, a bizarre oversight and at the time of purchase an under-published fact. I understand why now, but the solution was $$$. 

    I just keep my Era100’s + Beam 2 in home theater mode. I bought a Port S2 off ebay for as little as possible after a long search. This way I could ingest an turntable at line level and send it anywhere. Fortunately while in home theater mode the stereo music mode sounds nice enough for my use.
