2 x Play 3 vs. Playbar
I’d like to add occasional music capability to a fairly large (450 sq ft) room, 15’ x 30’. It would likely only be occasionally used. Does anyone have any thoughts on a Playbar vs. a pair of Play 3 speakers connected in stereo?(We have a pair of connected Play 5’s in a smaller room that are used daily, the primarily listening space, and a Playbar connected to a television in a medium sized room that’s used for both music and the TV.)Thank you!
Ambient music setup for multi floor retail showroom
I need to add ambient music throughout a 4 floor retail space. All floors are open floorplan and around 2500sqft. Needs to be as simple as possible. I was thinking 4x Sonos Era 100 per floor, one in each corner near the ceiling pointing towards the center, mounted with the Era 100 mount. Each floor will have its own wifi access point. What would be the best option for networking ands controlling all the speaker groups from one Ipad? Thanks!
Home Theater Solution
Hi friends, I have an existing 9.1 room wired with inceiling speakers and a traditional AVR. I want to use a ARC for my front stage, then use 2 amps to push surround speakers. Is this possible? So Channels 1-3 will be on the ARC and channels 4-9 will be on AMPs. Can this be done software wise with the Sonos logic?
Failure To Complete ARC connection to LG 65C2 TV via HDMI
I have a Sonos ARC Soundbar connected to an LG OLED65C2PSC TV and after several months of trying I am still unable to successfully establish a connection that allows the LG Magic Remote to control volume and mute.I can get sound through the Sonos when connected to the TV’s HDMI2 (ARC) port but no remote control functionality. If I use the Optical->HDMI converter supplied by Sonos and connect the Soundbar that way I can get full remote functionality, and the Sonos App completes the connection process without any errors. Perfect but I want full HDMI so I can get the Atmos channels.I have tried every TV setting on this blessed earth but the Sonos App always fails during the process of trying to link to the TV when connected to HDMI2(ARC).For completeness yes I have set…TV eARC to On TV Audio Stream to passthroughDuring these failed attempts to connect I have observed the following…If the TV audio out is already set to HDMI2 it will sometimes switch to TV speaker when the Sonos App tries
Orbi network connection issues
I’m not particularly tech savvy so apologies in advance for any confusion on my part. I have a Netgear Orbi router with two different RBS50 satellites in my home, as well as several Sonos speakers throughout the house and a connect AMP that is wired to outdoor speakers on my back patio. I recently set up an Orbi outdoor satellite to enhance my wifi signal outside. At first, everything worked swimmingly and I had no issues connecting to my Sonos system while outside. However, I recently had to restart my modem + router, and ever since then the Sonos app cannot detect my system when I am outside. I am still getting perfect wifi signal (which I assume is due to the outdoor satellite I added) but for whatever reason my Sonos system cannot be found. Or, on occasion, it finds a couple of the indoor speakers but cannot find others, including the Connect AMP (which is particularly frustrating because that is what powers my outdoor speakers, as I noted above). Any help in getting this iss
Best Dolby Atmos speaker setup
Hi all,My house currently have a pair of ceiling speakers above my sitting area across the TV location, so it got me thinking what the best Sonos home theater set up to buy.Arc, Sub and 2x Era 300. This is the latest recommendation from Sonos, but it won’t use the speaker that’s already in place which seems to be a waste, and I wonder if the overhead sound by reflection would be as good as actual ceiling speaker. It also sucks that I can’t add an Amp since it exceeds the maximum number of speaker in a Sonos set up Arc and Sub, then add 1x Amp for ceiling speakers, and install 2x in-wall speaker paired with 1x Amp. Does this provide Atmos rendering? I don’t see in any documentation on whether this is more than what the Sonos system support. Would this be better than Option 1?Thanks for the feedback!
Turntable line in level
Thought I'd play some vinyl this evening on my turntable which is hooked up to a pair of Fives. I was playing with the line in level and found I can actually have it set to the lowest - level 1, and still get decent sound volume through the Fives. Is it better to have it set as low as possible or doesn't it really make a difference to the sound quality? What do others have theirs set to?
Era 300's vs Five's: Which to Buy for General Music Listening (Non-Dolby Atmos with Spatial Audio)
Hello EveryoneI know I broached this subject early on during the initial release of the Era 300 series, so please forgive any redundancy. Let’s begin...IMO, the Five as a single speaker or in stereo pair is better than the Era 300 in the same configurations; but not by much. I was able to do an extensive A/B comparison in the same room with my Five’s and Era 300’s. The Era 300’s have since been moved to another room.My music preference is smooth jazz as I prefer instruments for making comparisons versus having vocals disrupt (color) the mid-range. The music source was SiriusXM Watercolors and Apple Music downloads.Room dimensions19 ft Long 13 ft Wide 8 ft High (slightly textured ceiling and hardwood floors)Speaker Distances and Separation3 ft from front wall (single and stereo pair) 10 ft Listening distance from speaker position (single and stereo pair) 6.5 ft from left and right wall spacing for single speaker 3 ft from left wall and right wall spacing for stereo pair (7 ft separatio
Android and Trueplay
I have read the thread on no Android integration for Trueplay, but I would hope spending 1500 on a system there would be a better solution than "borrow an iOS device from a friend"! Especially after3+ years!!! First thought, if it is a microphone issue, then standardize your system with 1 mic to calibrate your system with. Yamaha, Marantz, Denon, Pioneer etc ALL provide a setup mic with their systems. Microphones among iOS devices also differ, they are different from year to year and model to model. So that verbage doesn't add up or holdmuch water. Second, before the android bashing begins, I bet the cost of my system if the table was turned and it only worked on android and not iOS devices, there would be a loud outcry of Apple users, especially if told to go "borrow" an android from a friend. Not that this will change anything but I got to express my opinion. I'm the proud owner of a top-of-the-line Sonos system that is"Meh" at best.

A Buyers Opinion: Considerations When Upgrading to Sonos Era 300 or Era 100 Speakers
Hello EveryoneThere has been conversation regarding the logic of upgrading to the Era 300 or Era 100 speakers. Below is my opinion as to when an upgrade to the Era Series Speakers may (or may not) be warranted given your current Sonos setup. The following is from an empirical view point and by no means should be considered as a rule of thumb: but more correctly as a guide. Everyone has their own reason(s) as to when, why and/or should an upgrade be considered. My personal reasons are that I like the latest and greatest tech; not just Sonos, but other electronic manufacturers as well. Regarding Sonos, mine is by design to upgrade and sell the previous model to defer the cost of the new gear and get a decent ROI. Although Sonos products hold their value quite well...timing is also a key factor. People are more apt to buy used (pre-owned) electronics especially when the out-going product is still being sold on the manufacturer’s website and in stores at MSRP. I might also mention that
Sonos Beam Gen 2 + Two Era 100 - Dolby Atmos feature
Hello everyone,I own a beam gen 2 + 1 Era 300 and i was a bit confused when i realized i could not use a single Era 300 to pair it with my beam gen 2 as a surround but needed two of them.Anyways, now i am wondering if i should better go for another era 300 to create a home cinema with my beam gen 2. As i do everything with it. Home cinema, music, video games.OrTo sell my era 300 and get a pair of Era 100 instead ?so beam gen 2 + a pair of Era 100.knowing that my living room is quite small ( 291 square feet ).Is it not too much to have a beam gen 2 and two era 300 for this kind of room size ?Last question: Do i still get the dolby atmos feature if i am pairing two era 100 with a beam gen 2 when watching movies, as the era 100 are not dolby atmos ? And when playing apple music spatial audio? Thank you very much ! 🙏 Max
TV Source Skipping on Additional Speakers
I have a TV with a Sonos beam attached.I also have a Sonos Move, a Sonos Rome and 4 Sonos Amps outputting to speakers throughout my house and pool area. If I play music through the beam and group other speakers, everything works GREAT. No issues whatsoever. If I put the source on my SmartTV to Youtube and play videos and only play the beam, no issues whatsoever. However, when i group the other speakers (Move, Roam and Amps), I get audio skipping. I have seen this topic many times but I haven’t found a solution. My connection is great. I have fast and strong internet. I have also tried new cables, switching TV’s, connecting the TV and Beam via ethernet and have placed calls to support with no luck.Unless I get a good solution, my next step will be to put another amp and connect my TV and a non-sonos soundbar to the Amp and see if that works. This is really frustrating. I have a significant investment in Sonos products and I don’t think what I am trying to do is unreasonable.
Connecting WD My Cloud EX2 on different network to Sonos Music Library
I have 2 networks at home. One for the family and one for my business. I have a MyCloud EX2 Ultra Nas in my office and have some music that I would like to play in my home on the family network. I want to add the \music folder to my Sonos music library but I’m not sure on how to do it. I know that in order to stream from the nas when connected to the family wifi network, I need to do some kind of port forwarding on the office router but not sure what settings to use.Any help would be appreciated.
System Constantly Disconnects and when I try to reconnect it cant find speakers
my sonos system consists of 2 Roams and a Move all in different rooms of my house. I have a Deco mesh wifi system consisting of my main router and a mesh pod upstairs, they each provide full coverage for my entire home (home size is 3600 sq feet). My sonos system rarely is always functioning at the same time, one, two or all three speakers are usually not on the network. when i turn them all off, turn them all on, reset the router sonos rarely if ever connects all the speakers. the speakers magically just appear and start working again after an hour or two and them disconnect randomly so i have reset them all and redo the router. it’s very frustrating. i ordered a Sonos blast to see if that will help. If it doesn’t i’m giving up on Sonos and switching to something more reliable for my home stereo. Anyone have any suggestions before I bail on Sonos?
Sonos Roam keeps disconnecting while playing
We use our Roam to play white noise in our daughters room. The speaker is set up in her room on the wireless charger. Previously it always worked fine, and then now it randomly just drops out and appears as “not connected” in the Sonos app. It’ll play for an hour or so, and then it disappears. Hard rebooting the speaker via the button on the back returns it to the app and makes it usable again, but it’ll play for another hour or so and then randomly stop and disappear. For reference: my home sonos system runs on Sonosnet channel 6
Heating Issue of Sonos Amps
Have 4 Sonos Amps stacked in a closed cabinet. The sound volume on one of the amps keep going back down each time I tried to increase it. Checked the amps and all were too hot to touch or handle. The amp that I was trying to increase the volume had a red blinking light. Opened the doors of the cabinet and after a while the amps cooled down and the red light stopped blinking. Is this normal? If so why has Sonos not documented this to the consumer?
Suddently YouTubeMusic search stop work
Hi there!I uploaded several songs with proper metadata on YouTube Music. Until a few days ago, when I searched for an album by typing the artist's name under 'Album' and tap the YouTube Music Library, I was able to find all albums by that artist. However, since today, I can only find two albums for that artist and some or none for other artists. But if I select "Songs" and tap YouTube Music Library, I can see all the songs by that artist. This issue is occurring on all devices (Android) with the Sonos app installed in my house, so it is not a problem with my device.I have not made any modifications during this time, and I have also tried removing and adding the YouTube Music account. This problem occurs regardless of whether I use the old or new search tool.SonosApp updated to the newest version. There are some problems with the Sonos app or with the API?How can I solve?Cheers
Android app shows empty queue each time started up
When I start up the Android app it keeps showing the queue screen which is empty. It does this if the room that is playing is showing full screen but not if the playing is minimised and showing the rooms instead - hopefully that makes sense. So if I close the app with the playing showing full screen, it will open full screen the next time and immediately shows the empty queue. If I close the app showing the rooms with the playing part minimised, it doesn’t open the queue screen when I start up the app but as soon as I maximise the playing part of it, it shows the queue screen. There’s nothing in the queue and I just mainly listen to Planet Rock Radio which is still showing in the playing part when I start the app up.The queue has been empty for many months and I’ve not used it for many months apart from having to keep close it when it opens by itself.
