Sonos Bluetooth Connect
I would like to see a Sonos product similar to the Sonos Connect/ZP90 but instead of connecting to an amplifier it has a Bluetooth connection supporting A2DP/ APT X. You could then stream music from your iPod/iPhone, android phone or any device with Bluetooth similar to the way the iPod dock works, or the line in on the Connect, but the connection is made via Bluetooth rather than a wire In addition it should support transmitting music via Bluetooth so that a Bluetooth speaker or headphones could be used and it would work like a traditional zone player transmitting the music to the device attached to the zone via Bluetooth. I think this one device would meet the needs of some other requests here for sonos headphones, portable speakers and being able to play music directly from a PC/iPad etc as this could all be done over Bluetooth and using A2DP/APT X would give a good quality sound.

Sound Cutting Out - Samsung TV
Everyone-- Hello. I've recently bought Sonos speakers for our living room setup (Playbase, Sub and Play:1's). When I'm listening to Music through the speakers, everything sounds great. However, when I listen to anything which is routed through my TV (Cable or AppleTV). There is some random cutting in and out of the sound. It still somewhat plays, but gets very quiet and then will go back to normal sound or will sound like it loses the surround sound aspect of it. Here is my setup. Samsung TV - UN65MU8000FXZA - Digital Audio cable from TV to Sonos TimeWarner Cable Box - Connected to TV via HDMI cable Apple TV - Connected to TV via HDMI cable Is there any fix for this? Helpful hints to make sure I have my TV set up correctly through the digital audio cable? Thanks!
3rd party SubWoofer
Hello gang. I am a long time SONOS user and love the system. i am up to 4 Play 1 speakers now and recently got the play base. I connected the base up to the TV and it's working perfectly - thank you SONOS. I am turning 2 of the speakers into rear surround sound for the playbase but my question is regarding my existing sub. I already have an amplifier with a nice sub. How can i link my existing sub to the system? i don't want to shell out $700 on a sub when i already have one. I was looking at the connect but some posts i read say it's NOT possible. Since the posts i found are a bit dated i rather ask and see if there some new updates to solving this issue. Thank you in advance.
Delay compensation when used with AV receivers
When using the pre-outs of the ZonePlayer into a receiver or Pre/pro, and then having that unit process the signal in any way that requires digitizing the input, there is obviously a slight delay. Using the speaker outputs of the zoneplayer in an area close by results in the dreaded "echo" effect. Most receivers (newer/better) have adjustable delay, but it doesn't do any good in this case, as the signal is already delayed too much. If the zoneplayer had a programmable / adjustable delay for the speaker output only, you could utilize the built in amplifier (which is actually quite good, by my ears.) This would be a VERY usefull addition. - Thanks Chris

Sonos doesn’t really do “5.1”
Before you buy any SONOS equipment to achieve a 5.1 setup please consider this: a Denon AVRX2400 AV Amp, Elac CINEMA 5.1 speaker system, all cables professionally installed behind the walls gives you true home cinema with all the surround sound codecs you could ever want with no cables showing for way less than £1000 (see Richer Sound web site for prices). Or spend £1700 on a SONOS setup and get stereo or Dolby Digital only plus you may have to buy a new DVD player to play your UHD DVD’s, a HDMI Switch then deal with lip sync issues etc, etc. SONOS do speakers, great speakers, but only for music. They are stealing money from people wanting 5.1 for their TV. The system I suggest costs at least £700 less, hides all the wires (what we all want) and sounds much, much better. Go mad, stick a couple of speakers in the ceiling and get real Dolby Atmos for £150 more and still save yourself £550. I have begged SONOS to tell me if they are developing a surround sound product with HDMI
How can I remove a Sonos component from my list?
I am talking my Father into adding Sonos to his home, a connect to his hifi and a couple of Play5s. I have my own 4 zone system and wanted to lend him a Play5 to try for a few weeks. How can I remove the 5 from my list of components while he has it on loan?
How to connect my TV to the Sonos system?
I have two Play 1's and one Play 5. I am wondering, how can I connect my existing TV to my Sonos system so that I can play sound from Netflix through my Sonos speakers? My TV is not a SmartTV. Is this possible or do I need to buy something else to connect them?
Trueplay and Android
I have nearly $2000 of Sonos equipment. I love Sonos. Now comes Trueplay for tuning my Sonos speakers. What? Only iOS? Does anyone else here have an Android phone? I have used a Yamaha 4000 sound bar for years with speaker tuning and I love it. I really think Trueplay would improve my Sonos experience so I guess I better get an iPhone? :S:?
Sonos Playbar 2 with HDMI and other additional features
I completely understand the problem to add DTS re-coding to the current Playbar due to the fact of introducing audio delay. And since the Sonos Playbar is only responsible for audio, this delay can't be added for video as well. Therefore, I would like Sonos to make a Sonos Playbar 2 or Sonos PlaybarHDMI which takes care about audio and video. DTS and other sound formats could be easily re-coded into a supported audio format and the audio/video sync could be kept. But it could also address other improvement possibilities: - Display "Volume" onscreen - Support IR remote controls (and others as well) to adjust night mode and speech enhancement - Multiple HDMI inputs / HDMI switch - Display currently played music (while not in TV mode) - Possibility to steer music with basic controls via IR (Play/Pause, Next track, Previous track, radio stations) - Possibility to add two front channels (Playbar + 4x Play:1 + Sub) - Possibility to increase width of Playbar to fit it to the
Using Sonos Wireless Speakers as Computer Speakers
Hello! I am hoping you can help! My husband and I have just purchased a new smart tv with sonos speakers. We have the play bar in the living room and a second speaker in the kitchen (we live in Manhattan - small space, open concept). The sound is great. However, I'm having a problem. I need to be able to hook up the wireless speakers to my computer. The one big function I need is for the speakers to be able to hook up to my laptop and play whatever I need played from my browser. There has GOT to be a way to do this very basic thing - using the wireless speakers as better/louder speakers for my laptop. I take a lot of classes online and need to be able to listen to my lectures while cooking dinner, etc. This is non-negotiable, and it's a very basic request so I don't know why I can't do it. The tech said it wasn't possible, but it MUST be. I looked for a browser to add to the app so that I could go through that way, but no dice. While I know that I can technically go online throug
Airplay 2 on Sonos
Can anyone confirm whether you will need a Sonos One or a Sonos Play 1 to be able to play content from Apple products using Airplay? I know that Playbase and Play 5 will support it, but don’t have either of them. I currently have a Playbar, a Sub, and 6 Play 1’s, (in a 5.1 configuration, a Stereo Pair and 2 seperate rooms with a single Play 1 in). I want to add one more speaker, would prefer a Play 1 as I have absolutely no interest in voice control, but would buy a Sonos One if that is the Only way to add Airplay to my system. Thank you in anticipation.
Building a 7.1 setup for Home Theater with Sonos
Hi, I am trying to build a 7.1 Home Theater system for my basement. Following is the kind of system I am trying to build (Link at Dolby site). Also see the picture below: I was wondering, if we have an Arc as mid, can we setup a 7.1 through Sonos? Any idea?
Is it worth it to add a Sonos SUB to a GEN 2 PLAY:5 stereo pair?
Does anyone see the value in adding a SONOS SUB to a stereo pair of GEN 2 PLAY: 5's? I've been told that the DSP / crossover functionality of adding the sub to this set would lighten the low end load of the PLAY: 5's, allowing them to more powerfully and clearly produce the mids and highs. My specific questions: 1. Are there really high and mid frequency benefits to be gained from allowing the sub to handle the low end? Or would the sub just handle the low end, while the highs and mids on the PLAY: 5's sound exactly as they did without the SUB? 2. The pair of PLAY: 5's already deliver substantial bass, so are there even more substantial / noticeable gains to be had from adding the SUB? Or do 2 PLAY: 5's roughly equal the low end output of 1 SUB? I consider myself a very lightweight audiophile, so I would love to gain more clarity and power if adding the SUB can achieve this, but I do not want to waste the money, if the stereo pair can provide roughly the same clarity an
