Why does my ONE SL keep switching back to "kitchen" after I renamed it "bedroom"? Keeps happening after more than 10-20 times.

I have been having issues with my One SL Speaker that’s in my bedroom - it keeps changing its name back to “Kitchen”, which then gets confusing as I have already another speaker in the kitchen.

I am changing the speaker name in the SONOS app on my phone, and it reverts back to kitchen the next time I use my speakers.

I’ve read many posts online about it being related to Apple Home Kit but I do not use Apple Home at all.

I have tried removing the device, re-adding it to my system, and I even factory reset the device with no luck.

Is this some sort of glitch within Sonos? Can any one provide any information on how to fix it.

Sonos support are the only folks that can see the internal data that likely has the answer.

Get it to act up, submit a diagnostic and then call support.

I had the same experience, and don’t use Apple Home at all either.  I checked the Apple Home app, and sure enough, it had my speakers listed and different names than in the Sonos app.  I changed the names in the home app, and then my Sonos was showing as expected.  Even if you don’t use Apple Home, it is worth checking out if that is the issue.

Yep - I checked the Apple home app, and there are no Sonos Speakers listed / linked in the home app so I haven’t even got the option to try that.

Maybe another outside system? Alexa, Google or something?

It’s not hooked up to any home system that I am aware of.
In fact when I have been attempting to fix the bug, I completely removed it from every system/platform it could be linked with.

Does anyone have any other suggestions I can look into?
