Hi. Can you guys recommend sturdy wall mounts that physically grab the speakers firmly as the ones I bought for my four Play1’s and they came dangerously loose within weeks in fact one fell and was saved by the mains cable. Problem is they rely on the bolt hole in the speaker that seems to be made from cheese. My brackets don’t have any branding on but will try and upload a pic just in case anyone else is tempted to follow my foolish act.

Sorry the image won’t upload

I’d always had good luck with Flexson mounts, and have used their PLAY:1 mounts in several homes. Never had an issue.

The challenge, I suspect, is that they no longer may be made, since the PLAY:1 itself has been out of production for many years. You might still find ‘new’ stock out there, or Amazon may have some. If not, I’d look at resale sites like eBay, or others (pick what is right for you).

The mounting screw can be secured with something like Lock Tite, make sure to get the blue / easily removable, not the red  / gonna bust a knuckle type.

Both so you can see the differences.

Both types, odd brand - https://www.amazon.com/Jevvu-Strength-Threadlock-Fasteners-Losening/dp/B0DWMLZ2D5/ref=sxin_17_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa

Locktite brand, blue - https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Threadlocker-Blue-Liquid-Bottle/dp/B07Z898K2W/ref=sxin_17_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa

The Sanus mount fits One and Play:1. My Ones are quite secure, several years after fitting.

Lock tite is sadly no good as the screws seem to be some kind of die cast cheese and have just crumbled leaving a smooth hole. The screws on my 3’s are brass inserts and much better/stronger

I typed a long reply and must have pressed the wrong button as it seems to have disappeared completely!?

To summarise, I went ahead with the Flexsons as recommended and they looked the best from what I could see. Plenty of availability on Amazon and the price was good too. I’m hoping they don’t rely on the screw hole in the back as they have totally crumbled.
in comparison the ones on my 3’s I noticed are a brass insert. Much better and I mounted those effortlessly with tiny discreet alphason brackets.
Many thanks for all replies!

Dug out a Play 1 and looked at the mount hole, can't tell just what the threads are. Kinda shiny to be aluminum so might be steel.

You might want to submit some pictures to Sonos support to see what they think has gone wrong.

The Sanus mounts use two slightly tensioned wire bands to keep each speaker in place. I worried they’d mark the finish on the speaker, but a couple of house moves and unmount/remount cycles have settled my fears.

I very much doubt that Sonos would be interested in discussing build quality with such old products, anyway now that I’ve found months that don’t rely on the threaded hole I’m sorted but thanks for the reply
