Hi.  I normally kept my One SL volume pretty low, about 10 or 11 on the slider scale.  Now I have to turn up to 30 or 40 for the same sound level.  Was there a change to the software volume levels?  I’m worried the volume will return to previous levels and the sound will be really loud.

Thanks,

JK

Hi @jk1138

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear about this issue you are apparently having with the volume on your One SL speaker.

We have not changed anything, as far as I am aware.

Please make sure that a volume limit has not been set - if it has been set to 50%, for example, all volumes levels on that speaker will be half of what they should be.

Settings icon » croom involved] » Volume Limit » 100%

Please also be aware that if you have recently been listening to a lot of older music that pre-dates CDs, it was generally recorded at a lower “loudness” and you may find that playing something newer will sound louder again.

If the above does not address the issue, please try rebooting your speaker by removing power for a moment.

Finally, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

I hope this helps.

The problem is with the radio station stream.  Changing to a different station and the volume level is “normal” i.e. in the 10-12 range.

Thanks,

JK
