Sonos 1 with sonos2 but won't update to the latest sonos 2 will not downgrade to sonos 1 either. Tried both wifi and ethernet cable

Also, what device is your controller on, and what operating system is it running?
Followed sonos support to the letter nemerous times.
Funny I was able to downgrade one Play1 to Sono1 but not the other.
