I have tried most sugggestions, in particular plugged in the five via ethernet, but still, the update trial from my Android phone fails with Error 1101.

I checked the web interface and see

You’ve followed all the instruction here?

None of those actually helped. I tried all of it, without success. Only when I switched from my Android 13 phone to a Windows computer, from there I could initiate the update.

All in all I have to say, the setup procedure, at least with Android mobiles, is extremely unstable and painful.

Interesting, and unfortunate. Might have been instructive for all if you’d had submitted a diagnostic from your phone, and contacted Sonos support for assistance, but I’d imagine we’re long past the cutoff in the log files that would add some insight into why this occurred. Since both controllers are merely a view of what’s happening on the speakers, it’s even more confusing.

On the other hand, I’m delighted you were able to resolve it on your own, and get your system working again!
