The app no longer finds my playbase and I’m therefore unable to complete a reset which means the playbase is now non-functional. I’ve followed the instructions on the app and reset my router with no effect. The playbase is connected to the TV via a fibre optic cable and the TV is hard wired to the router. Any ideas?

Hard wire the PLAYBASE to the router as well, at least temporarily. It doesn’t get any Internet connection from the TV.
if you can then complete the reset, you can set up the network, and remove that extra cable.
A factory reset was the wrong way to start to attempt to fix this, but too late for that advice now. Just leaving it here for future readers.
