I noticed that when in the system name menu, clicking on SONOS at the top of the screen causes the system name to revert back to Your System. This does not happen when clicking the back button the top left corner. iOS 26.5 app version 85.0.31

The back button takes you to the previous screen. The Sonos “label” from anywhere takes you back to the Home Screen.

Yeah but it should change the system name.

Agree, the respective system name incorrectly reverts back to the default “Your system” when clicking on ‘SONOS’.

What are you talking about?

If you tap Sonos from anywhere it takes you back to the Home Screen. The home screen will read as Your System unless you have customized it to what you want it to say. As shown below as I have.

Tapping the back button as you say will take you to the previous screen as it should. So what are you expecting?

Make sure everything is updated such as your iOS and Sonos app.

Tried this several different ways on Android and the name changed.

Whoa…

I have iOS and Android. I’m not seeing any name changes. What am I missing? Maybe post a before and after screenshot. Because as of now I’m not seeing any erratic behavior with the app on either platform.

FYI, both OS’s are the latest as is the Sonos app and hardware.

The error occurs when in the System Name screen under General Settings (which the OP states in their post) and tapping “SONOS”, not applicable from anywhere else.

OK…got it!

However, I found the name change only occurs when selecting System Name in General Settings. It doesn’t occur when selecting other options in the same area.

However, I’d consult Sonos Tech support before labeling this as a bug. It may be expected behavior when selecting System Name and tapping Sonos to exit.

let’s be honest how often does one click System Name except to change it. Therefore the app may assume a change is going to happen. If it doesn’t it auto reverts to Your System if tapping Sonos.

I tested the above and found that if I change the System Name and hit the back button it locks in the new name. If I change the name and tap Sonos without selecting the back bottom the name reverts to Your System.

My summation is that the back button in System Name acts as the Save option.

So if tapping Sonos when in System Name and having it revert to Your System is not the behavior you expect or want…contact Sonos support to discuss the behavior as it may be normal🤔

Better still…stay out of System Name 😂

It’s a bug, no matter how you try and defend it.

Whatever…have it your way. You’re always the on negative side anyway. If it bothers you that much do the sensible thing and contact Sonos Tech support. I have better things to do. Therefore I’m done with this thread.

I see you haven’t changed. Anyone who disagrees with your opinion, you leave the thread.
