Me noticing Atmos has always been louder has been that way for me ever since I have been exploring Atmos and creating Atmos playlists both in Apple & Amazon.  What I heard today running the test described in my last post was a louder difference than what I remember in the past.  I have never, until today, tried an HD track immediately followed by an Atmos track.  I have played both formats, but at separate times.  That is when I noticed that Atmos was louder.

I have been very careful to make sure all my Atmos playlists contain only Atmos tracks. I have never before noticed that very loud volume jump when ending an HD track then transitioning into an Atmos track.  The reason for that is because I use my Arc-Sub-300s exclusively for Dolby Atmos tracks as well as TV.  Stereo tracks were played on that system just to see what they sounded like.  KEF does stereo better.

I’ve finally the answer from engineering after level 2 summited my issue to them.
I don’t like it. It doesn’t seem appropriate to the brand and the investment level to me. But it is an answer.
They have told me to wait a solution from them. They are working to solve it but cannot tall me a deadline. In the meantime I (we) can use AirPlay or Bluetooth.

So, another problem more to the backpack of my Sonos. I cannot use Apple Music for the dropouts, SVC doesn’t work in Arc because the mic turn it off by itself, don’t try to run a big playlist in Amazon Music because there is a limit of 100 tracks, who knows why. And now, I can’t play lists with Atmos tracks. Great. I’ve purchased two Era 300 and I cannot listen Dolby Atmos.

On the other hand I’ll enjoy changing the volume again from the locked phone while use AirPlay.

I imagine putting out a solution before it is solved wouldn’t satisfy many either.

@Triticale:

 I have been able to load Amazon Music Unlimited Playlists that I have created up to 500 tracks.  The problem with the Sonos app is a playlist of 478 tracks only loads 400 of those tracks.  Seems to round off the track quantity.  If I use SonoPhone to load the same playlist all 478 tracks load into the queue.  After SonoPhone loads all 478 tracks the queue in the Sonos app shows 478 tracks.

Sorry, I don’t get you.

Putting out a solution that doesn't solve all the problems isn't a solution. Sonos needs to test any proposed solution to make sure it solves all the related problems.

Maybe release something if it solves most of the problems but acknowledge the unfixed parts?

Warning:

Again I need to warn those who use Apple Music.  As long as this increase in volume issue is still a problem you’ll have to be careful when playing an album that Apple defines as Lossless or Hi-Res Lossless.  There may be Dolby Atmos tracks mixed in.  Apple does not make it obvious which tracks are Lossless and which are Atmos.  Amazon is better at defining the quality type for each track in an album.

Gentlemen. I’ve to announce that the mentioned problem has been solved with the recent update.

I’m so glad!!

Faster than I expected, honestly. Thanks to the Sonos engineers!

I had noticed I wasn't getting the folume blast today, didn't think about it as the release notes didn't call it out.
