Hi everyone,

I’m interested to set up a basic wireless speaker system in a small apartment—mainly for podcasts. I’ve heard about Sonos and I’m curious what a good starting setup might look like for a smaller space.

Would one or two speakers be enough to get a rich sound? Are there specific models that work better in tight rooms or near walls? I’m also wondering how well they integrate with streaming apps and voice assistants.

Would love to hear your recommendations or lessons learned from your own setups!

Thanks!

If you want good stereo separation a pair of speakers will be better than a single one. Wall-mounted Era 300’s are great, or 100’s if space or budget is an issue. My 300’s give great stereo but -as the marketing blurb says - without restriction to a single “sweet spot”.

I stream from multiple services and from my own music library. Sonos voice control meets my needs too for voice control.

Podcasts, a single Era 100 will do the job just fine. Mom uses a old Play 1 to listen to talk radio and it does a good job of filling her small apartment.

A 300 would be nice but likely more than needed, same for a Five.
