I have an amp running speakers in gym and added a sub. After setting it up an assigning it to the gym I get the tone out of the speakers acknowledging that it’s connected to the amp and the app says connected. But when I go back into my system the amp is not appearing in the gym and it’s not playing when select some music. I’ve removed it and added it back at least 5 times and factory reset and added it too.
Please don’t reset it again, at best you’re erasing information that Sonos can use to help you, but not fixing the situation.
When you set up this Sub, are you ‘bonding’ it to the Amp, or a Sonos Speaker? Have you turned off the WiFi on the device you’re bonding it to, by any chance? Have you tried wiring both the Sub and the device you’re bonding it to back to your router with Ethernet cables?
I’d be tempted to submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. But don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
