Question

Sub mini not connecting since update

I haven't been able to connect to my sub mini since the latest app update and have tried factory resetting/reinstalling numerous times.

The app recognises there's a sub but won't do the final part of connecting it to WiFi.

I'm guessing I won't be the only one experiencing this problem..

I have a similar issue as everyone in this thread (where my Sub Mini wouldn't connect). Mine refuses to connect to my Beam Gen 2. After spending over an hour on the phone with Sonos support it seems that some routers are incompatible with Sonos and cause issues only with the soundbars/home theater products. I asked them to release that list to us but we will see if they do. Its particularly frustrating because I can pair the Sub Mini with a One SL I have in the same room and it works as expected but when I pair it to the Beam 2 it stops working and drops from the system. The only solution is to buy a new router or to run an ethernet cord to one of your devices. No amount of factory reseting / rebooting the devices will fix it. I hope they fix this issue as having to connect a wireless device to ethernet defeats the whole point of a wireless system.

Exactly my problem.  Unreal lol.

My sub mini has been working fine for the last year or so, but just today it stopped working and I have been unable to connect it to my network again. I can’t believe this is a known issue for 2 months and Sonos hasn’t fixed this and there are just a bunch of useless sub minis out there. Embarrassing by Sonos

I have wasted hours today before arriving here.  Sonos, you’ve been failing every day for months and you can’t do anytrhing about it?  To me this is an argument for KEF audio.  Sonos has become synonymous with failure

Same story here. I have mine connected to a pair of Play 1s. All working fine until very recently, now it won’t connect to them. It will connect to my Beam Gen1, just not the speakers I want it to.

Hi, Sonos Sub Mini is suddenly showing blinking red and white led light. I connected with support team they are unable to help. The infinity button for doing factory reset also does not seem to work. Connected to ethernet cable and tried still the same thing.

Any solution please ?

I have been unable to get my submini to reconnect since June and have tried everything suggested on this and other boards. Also have 3 hours of quality phone time with Sonos, no resolution. What are my options???

Same Issue. Sonos sub mini is the only component that won’t connect to my system. Factory reset and adding component went as planned. But it says ‘not connected’ in my system and no audio output.

Anyone from Sonos add some colour to fixing this issue? Wait times on phone support are currently 40 mins. Feels like a company in meltdown.

Same here. Since the app update, I still can't get the Sub Mini to connect to my system anymore. It keeps breaking during setup in various ways, either never connecting to wifi (if I add it by passcode) or else never connecting to the phone (if I add it by NFC). The light on it eventually goes solid white if I add it by pass code,  but it still doesn't show up in the system.

It worked fine before the app update. Sonos has removed all their async support and the phone wait times are horrible. The CEO email address is on the support page but that is also ignored or else gets a form letter response sent several months later.

It's just an expensive paperweight now. It's been months since the app update and basic functionality still doesn't work.

They really should roll this whole thing back and do proper development and testing before trying again.

Lesson learned... this isn't a company that can be trusted over the long term. They already screwed over their user base once with the S1 to S2 migration, and apparently never learned their lesson. "Move fast and break things" should not apply to expensive hardware. I truly regret the money I spent with this company.

Oh wow, they just laid off 100 people. https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/14/24220357/sonos-layoffs-august-2024-app

Their stock is down 40% since the beginning of the year. Is the company about to go bankrupt? Seems to me the CEO should probably step down if there's any hope of saving the company... so much for our speakers, folks 😢

Is there any solution for iOS? I guess downgrading is not an option there?

my system stopped working tonight. At first only the beam worked, then somehow restarting helped my one sl. But for the mini there s no way of bringing it back to life. It lays there like a piece of wood. Tried factory reset also. Any help appreciated. Thanks
