Once or twice a week, my Sonos system randomly stops playing music on all speakers.  This is at times accompanied by all of my speakers disappearing from the iPad app.   Rebooting the iPad and thus the Sonos app seems to restore the speakers and fix music playback.   During this process, I get spurious prompts to add back speakers.   Some other notes:

  1.  I have a mix of 9 wireless and wired speakers, Sonos One SL’s and   Symfonisks
  2.  I have been able at times to play back music during these episodes from the Web app or the Mac

I am writing this note especially to the attention of Sonos personnel, but was wondering if anyone had noticed similar behavior and had come up with a permanent fix short of completely tearing down and rebuilding my system or network.   I should be at the most current software versions.   My network appears to be working, otherwise.   TIA

Not sure how it will work with the way the new app does things but many have found using the router’s DHCP settings to assign static/reserved IP addresses to all Sonos devices followed by powering all Sonos down and a router reboot makes the system more resistant to outages as you describe as well as issues at power failure/restore and post update reboots.

Only takes a minute per speaker and hurts nothing.
