sonos system problems

I’ve been a Sonos user since 2010. sometime around Covid, it’s been well publicized they have developed terrible software problems. I have spent countless hours on the phone. I have read reports of promises to resolve and of a new software rollout (Sonos 27) I’ve upgraded from 1 to 2 I’ve replaced old equipment, I’ve gone to a mesh router system, I’ve hardwired speakers and nothing, I mean nothing has solved the issues. What is going on with this company? Their tech was so solid and now it’s complete trash and they cannot fix it

Did you want help or just to have an open air rant?  It’s around 2020 that you have had these issues haven't reached out here before.

This is a community Forum where we try and help each other and Sonos Staff also look on.

Maybe a full description of your issues could help us try and resolve your issues?

But what are the issues?

Does the app load and find your speakers?  Can you play any music?  What services are you trying to play from or do you have a local library of music?

Yes all speakers are there and I use Spotify mainly. The speakers will drop off and then come back on line randomly

Also we all remember the debacle of 2024 Ace Launch App update but recent updates have not only proved reliable but have greatly enhanced usability and functionality. I had loads of issues all gone and these pages have been a lot more focused on enhancement requests rather than major problems, that not to say there aren't any.

Well I’ve talked with level 3 support on multiple occasions and am up to date with software but still struggling mightily

Send like a Wifi issue. Have ups tried hard wiring the speakers to see if that helps?

Can you try another source to eliminate Spotify as the problem?

Have you powered down all the Sonos, rebooted router and APs, then powered up the Sonos?

Have you looked at the  network status of each speaker in the Settings? Any showing marginal connections?

Some folks have seen issues mixing wired and wireless connections, it gets complicated but recent releases have simplified things. While "disable Wi-Fi" is still not recommended the new "Disable Sonosnet" option can improve reliability in a mixed wired/wireless system. Using Wi-Fi only is the suggested setup and works best for most people.

If none of that helps tell us more about your network, router, APs, managed switches, it all can help.
