I have a Sonos Play:5 speaker, which I can’t currently get to work. I have a (white) Sonos boost, and a (white) Sonos bridge. Should I be getting this combo to work?
Thanks

Forget about the Sonos Bridge, that’s really redundant in setups today.

The Sonos Boost may also be surplus to requirements.

Which app are you using? S1 is needed if your Play:5 is a Gen1.

Have you tried connecting the Play:5 by ethernet to your router?

My speaker is a black Sonos Play 5. That’s all I know. I had it working several years ago, but moved from UK to Ireland and now I’m struggling. Any help really appreciated.

thanks

Which app do you have installed on your mobile device? S1 or the current Sonos app?

If you have not used the speaker for several years, then the speaker will require a firmware update.

Connect the Play:5 to your router by ethernet and see how far you can get.

The Play:5 (Gen1) in picture below is only compatible with S1 app.

And, it’s possible that if it hasn’t been updated in a years, it could require a special ‘build’ from Sonos to get it current. I’d certainly call Sonos Support to discuss it.
