When I came back from holiday, my sonos play 5 gen 2 was on with a very faint white light. When I tried to play music or connect to my other speaker it was impossible.
I unplugged the speaker and it hasn't turned on since. I can't see the control light. What should I do?

Sounds like there are not many options. I recommend to call Sonos support and ask them for help.
I may have never turned on the LEDs on my gen 2 PLAY:5s, but as long as they continue to produce sound, I’m not really worried. I suppose I could trade in for a newer Sonos Five, but as long as they sound good, why spend the extra money? I use them daily, too.
