Sonos Play 5 gen 1 compatible with Sonos One gen 2 ?

Pleas can someone advise - tell me :-

will a Sonos 5 gen 1 speaker work in another room along my existing 2 Sonos One gen 2 speakers on this newer Sonos app that I’m using ?

Hi. No, that isn't possible because the Play:5 gen 1 is not compatible with the latest app. All those speakers can be part of the same S1 system.

If you want to use the Ones and the Play 5 with the same app, you can downgrade the Ones to the S1 app:

The Play 5 gen 1 is ONLY compatible with the S1 app.

Thank you Guys for your replies 👍….so do I need another gen 2 speaker if I want one in the kitchen? 
Any recommendations?
