Sonos play 5 blinking red light

Hi folks!!! I’ve seen a few topics about this but I wonder if someone has figured out how to fix the blinking red light.

I have two Sonos Play 5 gen 1 that I bought used. They were working fine until one lost connection. I’ve tried to factory reset it by disconnecting the cable, pressing and holding the mute and volume + buttons while connecting the power cable back. Nothing worked. Once I plug the power cable back in, the white light comes on followed by a flashing red light in a pattern. It blinks 3 times, pauses and blinks 6 times, repeating this pattern. I’ve seen some folk sharing the same problem online and managing to reset their speakers, but I have not had any luck. Is there anything else I can do besides what’s suggested online? I have a feeling that it’s going to be a fancy paperweight.
