Sonos Play 3 Speakers on WiFi with TV and/or computer?

I acquired a great pair of Sonos Play: 3 speakers with the Bridge when my office decided to eliminate them from our network setup. I have them playing in my bedroom on the house network and can access them with both S1/S2 apps and with the Spotify app itself, as well as controlling the volume seamlessly using Google Assistant (volume to xx%). I would like to be able to run my computer gaming sounds through them, and movies from my smart TV as well without having to add additional hardware to my network.Will I need to run it all through the Bridge unit, or can I keep them connected wirelessly? Or is that not going to work at all?

Not going to work at all. Both the BRIDGE and the PLAY:3 don’t have a line in to take input from your TV in any way. You’d need to add a Sonos with some sort of line in to the mix, which you’ve expressly said you don’t want to do.

For what it is worth, I wouldn’t use the BRIDGE at this point, given the issues it has (eventually) with the power supply. I’d hang the PLAY:3s off my WiFi, or SonosNet. As I have done with my PLAY:3s.

    That’s pretty much what I’ve done. I can connect Spotify directly to my Play: 3’s (they show up as Bedroom in the app under devices) and then close the app, reducing the load on the network and my phone. I just wanted confirmation that I wasn’t missing anything setup-wise. The bridge sits in a drawer as my backup configuration tool if I need to make major changes to my network and have to redo the setup.

      You can toss the BRIDGE, and just wire directly to a PLAY:3, which will act in the same way as the BRIDGE, with a better / more robust power supply. 
       

      It won’t disappear from your account at Sono,com…I’ve still got a couple that show up there, since I did register them, and they don’t disappear unless they get registered to someone elses’ account, but there’s no issue there, you just need to ignore the listing.

        If I recall correctly with Spotify Connect the app tells the speakers to fetch the stream, just like when you  use the Sonos app. So there’s not extra load on your network when leaving the app open - on modern OS’s leaving an app open will also not put a strain on your phone.
