Hi,

My wife recently bought a gen2 from johnpye auction house without testing it first. The unit arrived with the white led flashing. I tried resetting but it never goes to the orange light.
I connected it to the router through ethernet overnight without success.

The unit was bought at 260£ but at the moment I have a large paper weight that I cant make it work. Any suggestion to how to fix it ?

Flashing white means it is booting up and trying to connect to WiFi.  You say this was bought at auction?  It’s probably not been reset and is looking for the WiFi it was originally set up with.

Factory reset the device, then try to set it up again.

Hi thanks for the reply.

i tried to factory reset by following the steps it but it never goes from the flashing white to the orange. It keeps flashing white …

Which “gen 2” Sonos device has to be my first question. Not answered in your profile either.

Continuous flashing white light after resetting?
Some older Sonos products take more time to reset than others. These products include Boost, Connect, Connect:Amp, Play:1, Play:3, Sub (Gen 1), and Sub (Gen 2).

If something interrupts the reset process for these products, they will likely need to connect to your network with an Ethernet cable to complete the reset. Follow the solution steps in this article to fix this issue.
