Sonos Era 300 wall mount less than 60cm from ceiling

Hello,

The link (https://www.sonos.com/en-us/guides/era300) mentions that Sonos Era 300 should be mounted upside down if placed less than 60cm from ceiling.

I’m thinking of mounting these about 20-30cm from ceiling. Just wondering that instead of inverted mounting, is it ok if I mount them upright but then tilt the mount to make the speakers face downwards (they can tilt upto 32deg)?

Any potential issues with this setup?

Thanks

If you tilt the speakers too far the audio cuts out, as I understand it. But you could try and see how it goes.

Thanks @nik9669a . Was just hoping if anyone who has used upright position wall mount at a height less than the recommended minimum 60cm distance from ceiling. How has the experience been?

Want to avoid drilling and patch work so hoping someone has already tried and it works well :)

@TeeJay8

The advice for mounting upside down when less than 60cm will have been established with rigorous testing, so I wouldn’t go against that. The Era300s are created for the best spread of music, so mounting as advised and then running Trueplay will most likely ensure you have the best output - rather than angling them down so the upfiring speakers fire directly at the ceiling from almost no distance away.
