Every single one of my white era 100 speakers have slowly developed hairline cracks in the plastic white mesh grill, along the lower rim. The issue gets progressively worse with time until the plastic begins to fall off.
No issues with the black speakers. They still look brand new
Seems to be an obvious manufacturing issue.
I’ve already replaced 3 speakers through support and yet this continues to happen. Support is now saying the warranty has elapsed even though I received the below email ?
Is there no path to have these replaced ?

Most unfortunate for you.
Regarding the extended Sonos warranty, it’s not clear what product(s) are covered: is it a blanket coverage of everything?
As far as the cracks themselves are concerned, i don’t recall seeing any other posts from other owners about this, so to claim it’s “an obvious manufacturing issue” might be rather premature?
Purchased these very close to launch day of the era line. Likely a bad batch.
It is only the white color. Have 3 black era 100 without an issue. I’m sure they can track S/N back to a bad lot / line.
Reached out to support again.
Support confirmed the warranty extension and covered all 4 that were affected. Replacements have already arrived. Thanks Sonos !

Well done Sonos. Glad you are sorted, @bryan995. White again, or did you ask to change to black?
White again. I assumed they’ve fixed whatever upstream issue they had in the past year. We shall see ! :)
I have the same issue on a white era 100 bought this year, happened in under a year. Person on chat telling me ‘speakers dont spontaneously crack’. However, it appears the outer casing does. Same pattern, microcracks around the front, and a bigger crack forming around the side. No damage, not in sunlight, no moisture.
Ask support to escalate. Identical issue to mine.
We have 5 white era 100 in the house. In total, 9 total speakers have been replaced now. Some rooms on our their 2nd or 3rd replacement… The black ones all seem AOK so far. Same for ERA300, no issues.
I have the same problem but SONOS is replacing it. Their customer service is great!
I had the same problem and my replacement are on the way, however more and more sonos customers are having the same problem. Are they changing they way its built? Are they going to keep extending the warranty? This is not good, I love my sonos , great sound, great customer service but lately Ive seen a lot of complaints about software. I’ve had a little problem with the software and I was able to deal with it. I just hope that they found a real solution for the ongoing cracks on the era 100.
