would adding a connect gen 2 improve my sound quality?

It won’t improve sound quality, but the Connect will allow you to connect a line-in device like a turntable or CD player to your Sonos ecosystem. The Connect will also allow you to add a pair of third-party powered speakers to your setup.

If you can find one. They haven’t been manufactured in years, but were supplanted by the Sonos Port in January of 2020.
