Hello,

I just did a factory reset on my Beam, it has been working good for more than a year, but after the factory reset i suddenly have huge problems.

Install via Wifi doesn’t work, it won’t accept my wifi password, and yes i use 2,4GHz, i always split my networks (2,4 and 5GHz separate). I also tried on another router now, my old one, and not accepting my password, but with exactly the same password i can connect with other devices, so it really is a SONOS ISSUE.

Then i try with ethernet cable,it goes trough setup, but ends with “cant connect to WIFI with “” “  so an empty network.. but i tried everything for last 3 hours.. using other networks during setup, start over with cable and without, performed another factory reset..

seriously, i have installed many Sonos products in the past, i have had 2 beams (gen1 and gen2) i have had 4 sonos one a roam etc

Something is going on with the setup, some bug in the mobile app?

I use latest android app (it’s up to date).

any help would be appreciated

(ps what i also notice, when i am in last step, connect to your wifi network, and i fill in my password (that works on all my other devices I tried many times), it gives this error “cant connect to “4g-gateway-123ab” check password etc  (i have not in english but in Dutch).

But what i notice in that last step, it gives that error in less than 1 second.. like it doesn't even try to connect at all, because it should take a few seconds to login..

ps2 after i do this 3 times or so, try again etc.. i can also choose network setup but than i get that same problem as above, with empty network and he still asks for password for that. i also tried during install with cable to fill in my wifi network ssid etc but same.. can’t connect.

Well i solved it in the end…

i was thinking about the mobile app, that had to be the issue. So i did force stop of the app and deleted cache and user data etc.

After that i started the app again and had to set permission again etc, and after that it suddenly worked to install products again and setup wifi.  (and now it also took 5 to 10 seconds to connect to wifi.. not the less than 1 second).

Thanks @camel8. This saved me. Got into the exact same scenario. Removed and reinstalled the app. Then everything worked.
