Has anything changed with regards to Sonos and Tical Connect support?

It would need support for the specific Tidal Connect protocol, which Sonos would need to license/implement and certify. Qobuz is also about to deliver a similar offering.

Hi-Res Flac streaming is a second priority for me. If Sonos has no plans to support it, then I would not be buying the Sonos Arc Ultra, which would really be a shame.

You have it backwards.  Sonos doesn’t implement an interface with the protocols/API’s of the music services.  Instead, the Sonos Music API (SMAPI) and Sonos Control API require implementation by the content provider.  Since Hi-Res Flac streaming exists in both these API’s (Amazon and Apple both use them), it is up to Tidal or Qobuz to implement them in their interface with SMAPI, or in the Tidal/Qobuz app’s interface with the Sonos Control API.

So the real question is not “Does Sonos have plans to support it?” (they already do), but “Does Tidal/Qobuz have plans to support it?”
