I have a beam connected with One SLs in the lounge and the surrounds regularly stop producing sound and require updating, which fails every time. Unless I plug it directly into the router. producing error 30 or some similar variation.

In another room I have a beam connected to 2x play:1’s they never need updating and work perfectly. Never disconnect.

All on the same network.

what can I do to stop this happening, it’s getting very annoying.

thanks

This sounds like connection problems on the misbehaving units. The standard setting for updates is automatically in the middle of the night (that’s my setting and I don’t remember changing it). So your well behaved set up seems to do updates, only you don’t notice them.

You might consider adding static/reserved IP addresses for ALL Sonos, it sometimes helps in situations like yours. Your router’s DHCP settings page should walk you through the process. Once done power down ALL Sonos, reboot router and Controller, power up the Sonos.

With that in place you should see the overnight update process complete invisibly and everything be back on-line and ready the following morning.
