I am trying to play my Sonos speaker but app continuously says I need to log in to update my connection. Even tho I am logged in

Not much we can do to help with no information. If you share your situation someone may have a suggestion. 

If you don't want to share here the best alternative is calling Sonos support.

Log in to what? Are you using S1 or S2? Windows, Mac, Android, iOS? Which version of these OS’?

What music are you attempting to play? It might help to close and reopen the controller. Don’t Factory Reset anything without further consult.
