problems connecting my speaker system to roam

Hi I hope someone can help me.

I have 2 x Connect: Amp (Gen1) linked to ceiling speakers in my home. They run off the Sonos1 app.
I have just purchased a Roam speaker with the intention of linking the music indoors and outdoors, however this seems to only work with the newer Sonos app.
Every time I try to connect to the roam it knocks me off the Connect:amp system. The new sonos app can not find the older speakers.

Is there any way to link these devices and thereby extend my music system outdoors??

thanks in advance!

I’m pretty sure Roam is S2 only.

I’d look into whether or not the CONNECT:AMP can also be upgraded to S2, so that both devices are on the same OS, and can share data.
