Play 5 Gen 1 - is it worth getting one?

Hello!

I keep seeing a lot of Play 5 Gen 1 speakers for sale on eBay (I’m looking for a Play 1 Gen 1), is it worth getting one? What are the ‘cons’ that may be causing so many people to sell theirs?

Thanks 😊

Play:5 Gen 1 is S1 only and can’t be used with newer models.  A Play:1 is S1 and S2 capable and can be used (with some exceptions) with new models.

A lot of folks took the Sonos 30% rebate offer to get a newer Sonos using the older Play 5s so there are a number of them out there. Also so e that haven't been used for the rebate that should be worth a bit more.

If you want to use S1 and are willing to risk the well aged hardware it might be worth doing if the price is right.
