I have first generation play five speakers that I’ve paired and every day either the left or the right will drop off anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute and then cut back on again

Try separating them as a stereo pair and unplugging them from power for a couple of minutes. Reboot your router. Then swap the speakers (left speaker is now the right speaker, right speaker is now the left). Plug them back in and create a stereo pair again.
Will do, may take me a few days to get to I had shoulder surgery. Hence all the free time I have now to listen to music. Thank u for the suggestion
