no sound using Ds audio app on iphone

when playing music from my Synology NAS drive using the ds audio app, i get no sound from Sonos speakers.  Files show they are playing, but no sound

Where does it show they are playing?

I can see the rising/falling soundbar icon to indicate progression of the playing file in my Sonos app and in the playing file on the DS Audio app.  Also, the cover art and progression icon shows in the “playing now” window at the top of my iPhone.  No sound, anywhere, however.  Extremely frustrating to be so close, but yet so far.
