Just got a secondhand Sonos Play:5 but the previous owner didn’t transfer ownership, and I don’t have any way to get in contact with them anymore. Is there a way to fully reset the system so I can get set up as the new owner? I’ve tried factory resetting, but the app still says I need to sign in as system owner to get it added to my network.

edit: Got it! Thank you both!

You can factory reset the device by holding the play/pause button whilst connecting to power until the led starts flashing orange and white.

Once the led is flashing green it is ready to setup using the app.

I’ve tried that. It’s flashing green now, but the app is still telling me to sign in as the system owner

You can use the Transfer System Ownership option in the app to register it against your Sonos account.

That’s sounds like you are not signed into your own system.  Go to the App home page and click the Human silhouette in the circle upper right corner. If signed in it will say Sign-Out of course it not signed-in you get the option to sign-in

Once signed into your existing system use the “add” option to bring in the new Sonos.
