The latest version of the app is, as I’m sure you know, miserably hard to use and a huge step backwards.

As of today, it doesn’t work at all.  I can no sound out of any speaker.

Any chance you can give me my money back for the worthless wall hangings that I now own?

Looking at the products you own in your profile, you could try running the S1 app. 
 

Otherwise, maybe Sonos could charge you a rental fee for the devices you’ve used - though you might find that you owe them, for the time you’ve been a user! And you’ll still have to give back the speakers.
