Does anyone else have a problem with their home microwave consistently interfering with their Sonos signal?  When we run the microwave for longer than 20 seconds the Sonus signal sporadically drops in and out across all Sonos components/devices (4). As soon as the microwave stops, Sonos comes back on again at all components.

We are still using Controller 1 with a mix of old & new Sonos devices. As well, we have three WAP strategically located throughout the house with strong wireless signals throughout. This has been happening ever since we built and moved into the house. We even had our builder replace the microwave unit thinking it was leaking!  No one has a clue as to why and how to solve.

I used to, in another house. I replaced the microwave (eventually), with a newer model that wasn’t spewing electronic interference across the spectrum.

Hmm. Not quite what you were hoping for, since your builder has already replaced the unit. I’d certainly try moving the WiFi channel your Sonos and router is using, in the hopes that it gets further away from the interference, but mine did go away when I replaced the device.

@JonGNewman,

Maybe see this link…

Sometimes it is noise on the power rather than over the air, then a good noise filter like this can block it. Best to plug the microwave into it to stop the noise at the source.

Another option would be ferrite beads on the MW power cord, one may help but I usually use 3 or 4.
