Linking Sonos via Sonos App and Bluetooth

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice. I own an Era 300 and the speaker itself is amazing but I've run into an issue with using the Sonos app and Bluetooth at the same time.

Basically I'm using another app called Homey which allows me to automate songs/sounds from the Sonos App and sync them with my smart lights.

The purpose of this is for D&D to play sound effects for dramatic effect. The feature by itself works perfectly fine.

However, I have my phone connected via Bluetooth to play background music on a dynamic music app for D&D which also works fine by itself.

The issue I'm running into is that when I use Homey to play a sound, it cuts out the Bluetooth music to play the sound and then doesn't go back to the Bluetooth source afterwards.

What I'm looking for is a solution that ideally allows both sources to play at the same time so that the Sonos app doesn't block out the Bluetooth music. Or at least allows the Bluetooth music to play back via the speaker once the Sonos app has played its sound.

Any help would be much appreciated!

To my knowledge, there is no way to play two simultaneous streams on a Sonos, no matter if they’re both WiFi, Bluetooth, or any combination thereof. Any ‘mixing’ of a signal needs to be done before the data is sent to Sonos.
