I have an older Sonos system and just bought one more sub (gen3) I tried to update to S2 and at the same time i updated the speakers to fit this while trying to add the 2nd sub. I am not able to install the 2nd sub. I dont even see it when trying. (Frustrated) Has anybody tried this with success? I disconnected the 1st sub and tried to install the 3gen sub. Still didnt see it.
Two days ago, one of the speakers in my system stopped being able to have audio sent to it from Airplay. I get an error on my iPad that simply states: “Airplay: Unable to connect to “Office”.” Airplay works on my 4 other Sonos speakers throughout the house, apart from this one. None are added to my home via Homekit. I’ve tried the following:Restarting speaker Restarting iPad Restarting network Changing from a wired (sonosnet) to a wireless network connection Factory resetting speaker The best workaround I have for the moment is AirPlaying to another speaker, setting volume to 0, and grouping to my Office speaker, but this is insanely convoluted. I found a few other posts regarding similar issues, however they’ve stated that a factory reset has fixed the issue - unfortunately not the case for me. Is the only option currently to wait for Apple to fix their AirPlay architecture? Or has anyone come across a different fix?
I cannot figure out why my Sonos 1 is “unable to connect to Sonos”. I had no problems connecting to Sonos before two days ago when spotify connectivity encountered a problem in the Sonos app. My router and network have not changed, my router shows a great 2.4 ghz signal strength for my Sonos 1. I tried resetting my Sonos 1 with initial connectivity but then I see “unable to connect to Sonos” error message with a blank screen on my app. When I unplug and replug my Sonos 1 in my app finds it with internet connectivity, but then it losses it. Would a VPN affect connectivity? This has never been a problem in the past. My router sends all of my internet communication through a VPN. I even tried having my Sonos 1 be an exception routing it through my WAN without resolving this issue. Please help, thanks.
My S1 SL speakers connect to my WI-FI and can be seen by the app for only one minute before disconnecting. I have an EERO router and the Sonos speakers are within close range and getting a full signal. I’ve had the speakers for about a year, but the sketchy reliability has really turned me off to this product. Anyone have an idea before this system goes back to Costco?
I use my whole-home Sonos setup exclusively for music. My music library is fairly diverse, and of varying quality in terms of how it was mastered. As a result, I like to adjust the EQ on my speakers frequently, but digging into four “Product” sets to them scroll down to EQ and adjust each individually is a bit of a pain. A global/system-wide EQ adjustment would be really helpful for this. Works great for the volume slider, so it stands to reason it would also work fine for the bass slider too. Anyone else interested in such a feature? Any chance we could see that in a future update?
I just bought two Sonos One SL shadow edition speakers from Costco. I want them to play the same music in two different rooms of the house. I read online I could group them, but my Sonos App has the “Group” feature greyed out and says I need three or more rooms to group. Is setting up a stereo pair a good option if the 2 speakers are on two different levels of the house? Is there a way to create a group for two speakers?
I’d like to temporarily unplug the cord from the Sonos One Gen 2. Because that end of the cord is narrower, I’d like to use that end to feed though a cord hider. But when I set it up, I think it must have snapped into place. Am I able to un-snap that connection without harming the speaker? I’ll add this: it does not come easily unplugged by wiggling and gently pulling.
Hi got some older play 3, play 5, playbar and sub. They just stopped working and most Times The app wont find system so i reset The app and speakers. Morning all. PLEASE HELP. I have the S1 controller.Having tried all the steps to update my Play 3 speaker, it keeps giving the error code 30 or 1013.Following the same instructions, my Play 1 has successfully updated I have reset to factory settings, deleted and re downloaded the app, moved it directly next to and tried direcetly connected via Ethernet cable to router etc etc etc Is the product obsolete? What more can I do?
Hi I have had my system comprising play 3 play 5 first gen & a play one for a good few years. Other than the odd random drop out it has always worked fine. the play one my teenage daughter sometimes borrows. Plugs in her room and it connects fine. However it has been switched off for a while and has been dropped and works fine but will kit connect through Wi-fi. I have tried everything. Reset and reconnect all. The play one will only connect with Ethernet cable. totally appreciate the silly sod dropped it but can that make it stop working on Wi-fi? But random as otherwise it’s fine
Hi all, I had the strangest experience last night. I noticed music coming from my kitchen Play:3 at around 11:30pm. I didn’t pay much attention to it but did manually stop playback using the Sonos app. However, at around 2:30am I woke up and noticed it again. However, this time the music was strange, and upon opening the Sonos app I saw it was playing the “Spa” channel from SiriusXM (and according to the app the playback was initiated by Alexa!). Again, I manually stopped playback. And then finally at around 4:45am or so, it happened again - this time playing back some random track from Spotify. It was at this point that I opened the Sonos app and submitted diagnostic information. I’m at a loss to explain this - I don't have cats, older kids, or anything I can point to as a likely explanation. No alarms set. I have numerous Sonos devices, and this only happened on this one particular Play:3. Any insight would be appreciated! I’m also hoping to have Sonos look at the diagnostic log
My sonos play 3 was working fine (about 2 months old). 2 days ago it stopped. the light is flashing green. I've tried switching power on and off. I've re-set my wifi router but still not working. the sonos controller on my PC is not detecting it. any idea as to what I should do? thanks in advance. Simon
I got a new router, so needed to reset my speakers (5 total, 2nd gen and Move). The methods online and in the app didn’t work. (spent 90 minutes trying, so let’s move on.) So I unplugged all my speakers with the intention of factory resetting them. I removed the app from my phone. Reinstalled the app with my account. I reset one speaker and linked it to my new wifi. This worked fine. When I attempted to reset and install another speaker it appeared to work correctly. Then it stated it had a connection error and I needed to re-login. Which worked. However, the original speaker and my linked music services were removed. I’ve tried this a few times with the same result. Starting with different speakers and using different speakers second. Any ideas on next things to try? Thanks, CJF
I moved my Sonos speakers to an area where there is no wifi. The speakers are V1 so they do not have bluetooth. I want to use the speakers via ethernet cables (wired). I can’t figure out how since the App requires wifi and bluetooth. If I say I don’t have either, I get kicked out of the install process. Is there a way to get these speakers to work in this environment?Thank you,
As described, Sonos Play 3 and Play 5 keep dropping out. Music is pausing throughout the day. We are connected over wifi and using a very stable internet connection. I’ve run and sent a diagnostic. Confirmation number: 1633682018 Any help would be greatly appreciated, it’s definitely killing the mood at our busy cafe when the music keeps cutting out. Pete
Hi, I’m currently living in a houseshare. I have a Sonos one and my housemate has also bought a one. We’re having an issue with two Sonos accounts on one WiFi network. My app has automatically signed into his account and it’s trying to add my speaker to his account. Is it possible to have two separate Sonos accounts on the same network?
Hello everyone, I bought a Sonos system a few years ago and used it constantly without problems. Now I moved from Germany to the Netherlands and I am unable to connect the System to the new router, after not using it for 2 years. I changed the country in my profile, reset all the speakers and the bridge, connected the Play 1 speaker per cable to the router and tried the other troubleshooting tips on the website. There is no Mac filtering and I also tried setting it up with the 5Ghz frequency turned off. But nothing really seems to work.Only the Bridge is shown in the S1 App, but the App constantly shows “Unable to connect to Sonos”.When trying to set up the Play 1 by pressing “Add product” it recognizes the speaker I want to set up (and ask for the wifi password when not connected by cable), however it always stops during the last step and says the speaker couldn’t be found. So far I couldn't reach the German or Dutch support as the numbers don’t seem to work and the chat is constantly
I have 3 off Play 1 speakers and 2off Play 3 speakers, the Play 3 are linked as a pair, they are in the same room as my router. Why do the play 3 speakers drop out? very frustrating!!The play one’s, are all in different rooms and work perfectly.Trying to contact SONOS is a proper pain!ARE THEY INTERESTED? DO THEY CARE?
Seriously getting annoyed with my Sonos 5, I have it cabled to my router in the living room, whilst my Sonos one is on wifi in the kitchen. The sonos 5 will randomly pause for 5-10 seconds at a time whilst the Sonos one carries on playing normally. This happens when it’s playing alone without the one being used. I usually play music directly from Spotify. What can I do to fix this ?
