Let’s say you have the TV on and you want to share the audio FROM the TV to the 300. You have to go the room with the Beam FIRST and select the 300 there. The 300 will then play the TV audio. You cannot go to the 300s room first .

BUT, if you are streaming audio on the 300, you can then go into that room and choose to add the Beam. Both speakers will play the audio from the 300.

If connect to the 300 first it plays for about a second the goes straight to the beam cutting off the beam. Is this because the beam is through a HDMI cable and the 300 is Bluetooth?

OK...I ran tests on my Sonos with the following rooms:

  • Beam2 with Era 100 surrounds and Sub Mini
  • Era 300 stereo pair with Sub 3

Music

  • Start on Beam2 then select Era 300’s _ Music plays instantly no drop in sound  in either room
  • Start on Era 300’s then Select Beam2 _ Music plays instantly no drop in sound in either room

TV Video Audio

  • Start on Beam2 then select Era 300’s _ Audio plays instantly no drop in sound  in either room

TV (Beam2) playing Video Audio and Era 300’s playing Music

  • Era 300 playing Music then select Beam 2_Audio on Beam2 switches to Music both rooms play with no drop in sound. TV continues to display video
  • De-select the Era 300_TV (Beam2) still showing Video however Video Audio must be turned up on Beam

Conclusion

All the above resulting actions are expected behavior. Therefore:

  • Tell us more about your network
  • Have you updated the app on your device?
  • Have you updated Sonos speakers?
  • Have you first unplugged all Sonos then rebooted your router and afterwards plugged in Sonos?
  • Are you doing something differently than described above in my tests?

Note: Do not factory reset your speakers

What? OK...how many issues are you having? You haven’t confirmed anything regarding your original post? Now you’ve jumped to something else. 🤔

What source are you playing? Have tried any of the suggestions I mentioned in my first post? We still need information about your network.

Without the information that @AjTrek1 requested, I’m guessing an issue with wifi interference , but a lot depends on that extra data.
