I reset the Sonos One from the instructions; but it doesn’t recognize the wireless router and thus won’t connect to my Spotify account. It won’t connect to NPR radio station either.

Use a ethernet cable to plug the One into your router and try the setup again. After it has been setup, check for an update, When all of that is done, you can unplug it from your router.
