Feature Request Group to Era 100

I have a record player hooked up to the Era 100. Main reason I got it because of the direct line in, so I usually want my record player sound playing on the whole system.

I would love if you could configure the long press pause/play button so that all available Sonos speaker in the system group TO the Era 100. Currently it only seems possible to group the Era 100 to other speakers that are already playing music.

I’m a little confused about your request.

Can you elucidate? Are you asking for ‘pause/resume’ behavior to be extended from one room to several/all rooms?

The long press is supposed to Group the pressed speaker with the currently playing speaker(s) is that not happening?

Unfortunately no. The wording is a bit iffy here. It says you can „group it together to another room that is currently playing music.“ So if I‘m sending from my Era 100, and want the others to group to it, that doesn‘t seem to be working.

See if you can get the Autoplay option to work for you.

I think the long press is working the opposite of what you are wanting. If music is playing on your Era 100 and you want to group another room to it, you would long press on the other room. Not the Era 100.

But the autoplay line-in setting buzz mentioned will allow you play the line-in to a group you have already established. Era 100 and everything else if you want.

Yes, exactly, that‘s what I‘m trying to say. I only have Synfonisk speakers next to my Era 100, which don‘t have that feature. It would also be pretty cumbersome to run around the house and group all of them to the era. I realised by now the grouping stays which essentially solved my problem. Might still be a nice feature for those who regularly have to change groups.

Say to the Era 100 “Hey Sonos, group everywhere”.

While saying the command “Hey Sonos Group Everywhere” will work as long as you are using Sonos Voice (not sure about Alexa) you may bring in a speaker that you don’t want. A prime example is a speaker in a bedroom where someone might be napping 😂.

Another alternative is to setup a Permanent Grouping of select speakers by going to:

  1. Settings
  2. Create Group
  3. Select the speakers you want
  4. Name the Group (e.g. Turntable)
  5. Click Save.

To select the Grouping (you created) click on the Speaker icon in the “Now Playing” section at the bottom of the screen and select the Group named for the Turntable.
