Does anybody have any experience with this enclosure/mount for the Era 100?  I would miss access to the touch controls, but it looks like a neat way to make the speaker unobtrusive.

I’m curious about the sound quality of the Era 100s vs. the Amp with the in ceiling speakers.

Haven’t seen that enclosure before, but as it encloses a speaker that is designed to radiate in a 360 degree circle, I’d be suspect about its efficacy.

And without knowing what speakers are connected to the Amp, it’s hard to make a value judgement between the two.

I wondered that too about the 360 sound, but if you look at the exploded view of the Era 100s, it looks like they only cover about 120 degrees

I would be comparing them to the Sonos amp and 8” in ceiling speakers.

I can’t provide answers, since I’ve never seen this mount before. Which 8 inch in-ceiling speakers?

The Sonos (really Sonance) speakers. Sonos ceiling speakers

My expectation (not having heard either) is that the 8” Sonos/Sonance would put out a lot more sound than the 100.

Since you’d have both mounted in the ceiling the usual advantage of the 100, being properly positioned for best imaging doesn’t apply.
