Hi. I have a beam and sub in the lounge and era100s in the kitchen and bedroom.

The bedroom alarm works brilliantly giving music at the right time every morning. However using the era100 to go to sleep can be a problem. I have developed a long Spotify playlist with my Wife's favourite sleepy tunes and I will use my phone app to start this with a 30 min timer.

Often the app says it cannot play the playlist and says something has gone wrong. Last night I managed to get the lounge beam to play the playlist and then I added the bedroom and cancelled the beam. However I could not alter the volume on the bedroom speaker or set a timer. I had to manually reduce the volume using the finger slider and then ask Alexa to set a timer.

Do you have any suggestions as to why this era100 is unreliable. The kitchen era works well though I am not using it as a sleep assistant!

The symptoms suggest some wireless interference impacting on the Bedroom Era 100.

Have you tried a simple reboot of the Era 100 to see if the connection improves?

If the support article and rebooting doesn’t help, submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing the issue taking note of the reference number, then contact Sonos Support to discuss.

The Eras will use 5GHz and the others 2.4GHz, so I’m guessing your router has trouble routing reliably between the radios. What router do you have?

Thanks for the replies. Mr T- yes I have rebooted numerous times and this can work but it does not make the era appear on my phone.

Controlav - I think you have hit the nail on the head. I did not know about the different frequencies. This explains why I could start the playlist on the beam then switch it to the era. My phone would not control the era indicating there is no connection.

The system worked well last night though I have kept watching the phone to see which speakers are showing.  Currently the two era100s are showing but not the beam. My roam which I use occasionally is on and showing on my phone. I assume the roam is on the same frequency as the era's.

My router is a BT smart hub 2 which is fairly new and would be used by numerous households. What should I do to get the 2 frequencies working together. My beam is gen 1 (as is the sub I think) - is the newer gen 2 or 3 beam on the era frequencies? Thanks for your advice.
