Hello! I have a Sonos Era 100 that we use in the office. We have just moved locations, at the previous location we could play music through the speaker without bluetooth. After moving to the new location, we have tried to get it setup on the new wifi but were having some trouble getting it to connect. Going through the app, the system setting would say that they had changed to the new network, but it wouldn't be visible. We tried factory resetting the device, and after finishing the setup process the device now fails to even show up in the app. Additionally, after factory reset the basic bluetooth functions of the device don’t work.

Several issues are possible. Your IT department may have set up the WiFi to block devices not ‘authorized’ to join. You’ll probably want to check with the,, they may need to ‘whitelist’ the MAC address for the Sonos speaker. They’ll certainly want to be aware of its connection, and the internet signal it can connect to, as indicated in the Sonos Network Requirements FAQ.

Factory resetting the device is usually (always!) a bad idea, it erases all data from the device, including access to Bluetooth connections, making it so the device would essentially be as it came out of the box (albeit with the latest firmware. You’ll need to get it set up on the network first, before you can reset up Bluetooth access to it.

Oh, I’d certainly suggest you call Sonos Support to discuss it, even though you’re using the device in an unsupported environment (work situation, which often means enterprise, rather than home networks).

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Also check the Wi-Fi client isolation setting as that can prevent the controller from seeing the speaker.
