I have an Era 100, which I was using only for music streaming (Spotify)
Recently I have bought a Panasonic TV and paired the Era100 with it.
The problem is, how to use the TV remote, tu volume up and down, as right now is useless.
The only way to use volume, is with the slide on the TV, which is really uncomfortable.

Another thing which I noticed is: if I am selecting the TV out, and the Era100 is paired, then the sound comes from TV speaker and Era100, which is annoying

THANKS

Steve

The ERA 100 is not a Home Theatre speaker unless paired with one, such as a beam/Ray/Arc.  How are you connecting it?  Via Bluetooth?

Hi, thanks for the answer

yes, I know it is not an Home Theater speaker, but it is connected to the TV, and I can get the sound out of it; yes, it is bluetooth connected

made a mistake in the post: the only way to volume up and down is with the slider on the Era 100

And that is the only way it will work as the TV will not send volume commands in the way the ERA expects.  The ERA will be expecting a certain protocol as if the command was coming from a computer or mobile phone.  I mentioned the Home theatre thing because that would be the answer from Sonos and would allow the TV and/or the TV remote to control volume.

I am surprised sound is playing at all, would not work on my Samsung TV when I tried it.  How is the lypsynch?

You can also control the Era volume from the app.

I see you have a Ray and Playbar that are designed to work as TV speakers. Why are you trying to force an Era 100 that is not designed to work as a TV speaker (in the same manner of a Ray and Playbar).

The Era 100 can be used as a stand-alone music speaker or as a surround speaker when two Era 100’s are bonded to the Ray. FYI, Era 100’s will not work as surrounds with the Playbar.

I didn’t put to much attention, as I was more into find a way on how to use it, but it seems not too bad, at least nothing to mention.
But as it is useless, I don’t think I will invest time on it

mmmmh, interesting, I haven’t fount the way how to do it

Is it possible to use any other kind of remote (programmable)?

The ERA 100 is connected to a different TV, where I do not have anything else but the Era 100.
At the beginning was not intended to be used connected to a TV, but due to the fact it is already there I though it is a shame not to use it

You effectively have two (2) questions…

  1. You control the volume for the Era 100 in the app the same way you control volume in the app for your Ray and Playbar. Unless you are saying you don’t know how to control volume for those speakers in the app as well?
  2. No, there is no programmable remote that will allow you to control the volume of the Era 100 as a speaker in the manner you are using it; nor as a standalone speaker.

don’t know how to do it! I am using for both the remote of the SAT receiver, which allows me to do it.
That’s why I was asking for a remote for the Era100

The Era 100 does not have an IR sensor. Therefore no remote will control it directly. Click the link for Sonos products that can be controlled via a remote.
