Desktop App Sound Options

I’d like to suggest for a future enhancement to the Sonos Desktop App, some changes to the volume sliders. Unlike the Mobile App it does not show any numerical values and the sliders can be difficult to adjust using a mouse and there isn’t anything like a simple +/- button either. This would be helpful when trying to match multiple speakers to the same volume level or setting ceiling speakers at a different level than the TV connection.

Also, this is probably unlikely, but if there would be a way to run the Desktop App through Windows Loudness Equalization that would be amazing, since Sonos has long claimed it is impossible to do loudness equalization and the “option” within the app (mobile and desktop) is useless.

Desktop apps for both Windows and Mac are in ‘no new features’ mode, in favor of the web app. There has been no updates to either of them, other than bug fixes, for years now.

As soon as the web app reaches ‘parity’, those two apps will be retired, Sonos has said.

Don't do the desktop stuff but isn't a loudness setting available in them?

I don't switch that often and use the App when I do.

I guess that shows how much I pay attention. Thanks for sharing that! It would be a shame if they retire the desktop app because that’s what I use 95% of the time and only use the phone/app version if I am forced to.

There is, but I’ve never noticed any difference with the settings. Different episodes of TV shows can vary drastically, but when I used to run everything though the Windows Loudness Equalization different episodes or music on shuffle was always the same volume.

Not sure, assuming the web app reaches parity, that there will be a significant difference between the web and the current desktop app. My understanding is that it will remain the case that you need to use the mobile app for setup.

You do have a browser on your desktop, I’m assuming?

My Windows app has both of these features (see profile).
