Connecting Sonos Play 1 and Play 3 to ASUS RT-AX58U Router

I have replaced my standard Sky broadband router with an ASUS RT-AX58U and everything works fine apart from the Sonos Play1 and Play3 which will not connect.  When I plug the Sky router back in and run the Sonos setup everything works again.

Is there a compatibility issue between Sonos and the ASUS router or are there particular steps I should be taking?

Have you entered the new router’s details into Sonos?  You would have to temporarily wire one Play:1 or Play:3 to do this.

But what I suggest you try first is to:

(i)  Make a note of the current SSID and password on the Asus

(ii) Amend them to be as on your Sky router

(iii) See if Play:1s and Play:3s now connect.  You may have to power cycle the router and speakers.

Please poat back with outcome.
